High Line Canal

We developed a comprehensive plan to implement four distinct activation zones along a scenic two-mile stretch of the High Line Canal in Greenwood Village, Colorado. One shaded area is designed to function as an outdoor classroom for a nearby school while also serving as a picnic area for the local neighborhood, creating a space where education and relaxation can coexist harmoniously. Additionally, there will be one area featuring small bike skills courses along with a shade structure to provide respite for users. Another designated area will serve as a shaded picnic and interpretation space, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural surroundings while learning about the local ecology and history. Lastly, there will be an outdoor fitness area designed to encourage physical activity and promote wellness. I consulted closely with Gametime Recreation and Flow Ride Concepts to ensure that the fitness areas and bike skills courses would not only meet but exceed the client’s expectations for quality and usability. The client for this ambitious project was the High Line Canal Conservancy, and it is planned that the project will be maintained by Denver Parks and Recreation once construction is complete. My specific role in the project encompassed concept development, collaborator communications, graphics production, and the creation of construction documents.
